A Note from Shanelle
I wrote Try a New Path because I needed it.
The biggest transitions in my life did not begin when things fell apart. They did not begin because I lost passion for what I was doing. They began with an internal pull I could no longer ignore.
Athletics gave me a path. The military gave me a path. Both gave me structure, purpose, challenge, and clear ways to measure progress. I knew how to work hard inside systems that told me what came next.
What I did not know was how to move when the old life still worked.
That became the real challenge. Not starting over from nothing, but stepping away from roles, identities, and definitions of success that still looked valid from the outside. Not because they were wrong, but because they no longer fit who I was becoming.
I wrote this book from inside that tension, trying to answer a question many of us face at some point: What do you do when there is no clear map, no prescribed next step, and no title waiting for you, yet you still know you are being called forward?
This book is an invitation to stop living by default and start choosing your life with intention. It is for anyone who senses they are meant for more, even if they cannot fully name it yet.
Try a New Path is where that conversation begins.
The Fifth Path is where the work continues.
